Questions, answered plainly.
What Root to Rise is, when breakfast happens, how coaching works, and how to help. If it is an emergency, call 988 or 911.

What is Root to Rise?
Root to Rise is a recovery community in Mashpee and Falmouth, Massachusetts, and a program of Inspiration Is Everywhere Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We walk with people in recovery on Cape Cod — offering peer recovery coaching, the Resilient Recovery practice series, benefits navigation, and a clear path to the resources that make a life possible.
Who runs Root to Rise?
Root to Rise is led by people in long-term recovery and licensed counselors. It is a program of Inspiration Is Everywhere Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 82-5186366). We keep names off our website on purpose, to protect the anonymity that recovery depends on.
When and where is the Recovery Breakfast?
The Recovery Breakfast is now monthly. The first one is Thursday, October 29, 2026 — time and location coming soon. We will post them here, or send us a message and we will let you know directly.
Is recovery coaching free?
Yes — peer recovery coaching with Root to Rise is free. A coach can meet you in town, over coffee, on a walk, or at the monthly Recovery Breakfast, and can also help you find a meeting, a clinic, a job, or benefits you may qualify for. Send us a message or call 603-721-2088 to ask.
What is Resilient Recovery?
Resilient Recovery is our weekly practice series built on The 7 Pillars of Resilience — vision, composure, reasoning, tenacity, collaboration, stewardship, and a weekly review. It is free, and you can start on any day. See the practice.
Can you help me find benefits I qualify for?
Yes. Our free benefits navigator is a private screener that points you to programs like SNAP, MassHealth, Lifeline phone service, and fuel assistance. A coach can also sit with you and help you apply.
Do I need a referral or paperwork to come?
No. No ID, no referral, no intake paperwork. Come as you are. If you want a coach, just ask — we will take it from there.
How can I volunteer?
We need hands at the monthly Recovery Breakfast, in the kitchen packing meals, with job mentoring (mock interviews, resume help, a ride to a first shift), and helping someone call a clinic, a pantry, or a landlord. Fill out the volunteer form — no account needed — and someone from Root to Rise will write you.
How do I become a recovery coach?
Root to Rise hosts classes and ongoing training for recovery coaches — listening, ethics, resource navigation, and how to show up without taking over. Classes are monthly and the next cohort is forming. Send us a message to ask about it.
How can I donate?
Give one time or monthly on the Give page, and direct your gift to breakfast, meals, coaching, work, or coach training. We also collect in-kind items — shelf-stable breakfast foods and coffee, grocery gift cards, work boots and interview clothes, bus passes and gas cards, toiletries and new socks. Drop-off can be arranged through the contact form.
What if I or someone I love is in crisis?
